11.12.2009 - Romans 3:9-20

9What shall we conclude then? Are we any better
[a]? Not at all! We have already made the charge
that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under sin.
10As it is written: "There is no one righteous, n
ot even one; 11there is no one who understands,
no one who seeks God. 12All have turned away,
they have together become worthless; there is
no one who does good, not even one."[b] 13"Their
throats are open graves; their tongues practice d
eceit."[c] "The poison of vipers is on their lips."[d]
14"Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness."
[e] 15"Their feet are swift to shed blood; 16ruin and
misery mark their ways, 17and the way of peace
they do not know."[f] 18"There is no fear of God
before their eyes."[g]19Now we know that whatever
the law says, it says to those who are under the law,
so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole
world held accountable to God. 20Therefore no one
will be declared righteous in his sight by observing
the law; rather, through the law we become
conscious of sin.

we are all sinners, that's all this is trying to say. some of these passages before talked about gentiles and jews as separate kind of people, but the whole story is that everyone is sinful and we all need God. this is a passage that talks about how we are not saved because of what we've done. we are all sinful people and in this passage it quotes psalm many times talking about how not righteous we are. we all are.
In real life sometimes Christians like to act like we are better then others and that we did all this to make our lives better, but we haven't done anything... we are saved because of God. we are sinful creatures worshiping our awesome God. We need to always think of others and talk to them about God and reach out to others.
